Grade 307

This is a product of great purity with a marked crystalline structure. The crystals measure up to 40μm. Its properties, as well as the high thermal conductivity inherent to boron nitride, make it the ideal filler for plastics whose thermal conductivity needs to be increased. At the same time, the electrical insulation properties are preserved. Its structure allows a high concentration with a small increase in viscosity. It is very low hardness helps avoid tool wear compared to aluminium oxide, magnesium oxide and other fillers.

Advantages

  • High heat dispersion
  • Impeccably clean
  • Allows high concentration
  • Very large crystals
  • Very limited surface area
  • No abrasion of the final product
  • Minimum tool wear compared to other fillers due to its low hardness

Application

  • Filler for thermally conductive pastes
  • Filler for silicone resins, thermoplastics, hard plastics

Grade 308

This has a high degree of purity and crystallinity. The high purity, low density, and high thermal conductivity inherent to boron nitride make it a good filler for plastics whose thermal conductivity needs to be increased. At the same time, the electrical insulation properties are preserved. Thanks to its structure, low to medium filling levels are possible, which allows it to dissipate heat. It is very low hardness helps avoid tool wear, particularly with respect to aluminium oxide, magnesium oxide and other fillers.

Advantages

  • Electrical insulation
  • High heat dispersion
  • Impeccably clean
  • Large crystals
  • Average surface area
  • No abrasion of the final product
  • Minimum tool wear compared to other fillers due to its low hardness

Application

  • Filler for thermally conductive pastes
  • Filler for silicone resins, thermoplastics, hard plastics

Grade 309

This boron nitride powder is distinguished by a particularly high specific surface area as well as a crystalline structure. The crystallites of the micro-grains constitute large agglomerates with an average particle size of 9μm. The large surface area helps obtain a good distribution in fluid systems.

Vorteile

  • Very high surface area
  • Electrical insulation
  • High heat dispersion

Application

  • Additive for liquid separating and levelling agents
  • Additive for separating and lubricating agents

Grade 310

It is distinguished by its high purity and the size of these crystallites. Its high degree of crystallinity gives this material exceptional lubricating properties. In addition, the distribution of the particle size of the powder as well as the specific surface area are relatively small. When used as a filler, the viscosity of the matrix is hardly affected.

Vorteile

  • Electrical insulation
  • High heat dispersion
  • Large crystals
  • Low specific surface area
  • Minimum tool wear compared to other fillers due to its low hardness

Application

  • Filler for improving high temperature properties in oils and greases
  • Increased thermal conductivity of plastics
  • Filler for coatings

Grade 311

It is distinguished by its high purity and the size of these crystallites. Its high degree of crystallinity gives this material exceptional lubricating properties. It is used as a filler to increase thermal conductivity.

Advantages

  • Electrical insulation
  • High heat dispersion
  • Good lubricity
  • Low viscosity increase
  • Minimum tool wear compared to other fillers due to its low hardness

Boron nitride powder

Boron nitride powder

Boron nitride  is a synthetic ceramic. As a powder, it is used in many applications: mould release, lubrication or as a filler for polymers to increase thermal conductivity. It has various characteristics that differ according to the particle size (available from 1 to 45 µm) and that affect thermal conductivity, particle dispersion, lubrication, etc. Boron nitride powder  is available in various grades from 301 to 311.
