E-Glass Fibre Sleeves 700 °C

E-Glass Fibre Sleeves, up to 700 °C

Since its patent in 1930, E-glass fibre is distinguished by its resistance to high temperatures and its excellent electrical insulating properties. This high-quality fibre ist rot-proof, resistant to the most common chemical agents and dimensionally stable, even in the event of substantial variations in humidity and temperature.

While E-glass filaments of diameter exceeding 9 μm can cause skin irritations, filaments with a diameter smaller than 3 μm are respirable and can build up in the respiratory system. For these reasons, E-glass fibre products supplied by Final Advanced Materials are manufactured using E-glass filaments with a diameter between 6 to 9 μm.

The high flexibility of E-glass sleeves facilitates the insertion of cables or pipes that need to be insulated. Moreover, these sleeves can withstand operating temperatures up to 550 °C and peak temperatures up to 700 °C. Therfore, they are used in the industry for the thermal protection and the electrical insulation of cables and pipings.

Final Advanced Materials provides E-glass sleeves in braided versions with an inner diameter ranging form 12 to 110 mm. A silicone coating is also available to improve the properties of the sleeves. For more information regarding the availability, refer to the technical data sheet.
