High temperature packings
Overview: High Temperature Packings
Final Advanced Materials presents a wide range of high temperature resistant packings that can withstand up to 1,200 °C. These products are mainly used as insulation gaskets by industries working at high temperatures. Packings are composed of a braided envelope, the material of which depends on the application, and a core, usually made of E-fiberglass.
Applications of Packings
- Insulation of industrial furnaces
- Mould joints
- Thermal insulation
- Thermal insulation of pipes and exhausts

Our Range of Packings
Aramid Fibre Packings, up to 400 °C
100 % para-aramid fibre packings are produced from operating fibres, which deliver excellent mechanical properties. The glass-fibre core of the packing improves its thermal and mechanical properties, together with its abrasion resistance. Packings retain their characteristics up to an operating temperature of 350 °C and can withstand peak temperatures of 400 °C. Primarily used in the glass industry, they also show good resistance to chemical products and abrasion. Available in round or square sections, these products are supplied in various diameters, in the interests of optimum adaptation to every requirement.
Applications
- Insulation of industrial furnaces
E-Glass Fibre Packings, up to 700 °C
Packings consist of an outer sheath made of 9 μm E-glass fibre and a ceramic fibre core, suitable for high temperature applications. They have excellent mechanical, thermal and dielectric properties. E-Glass fibre packings retain their characteristics up to a peak temperature of 700 °C. They are available in round sections.
Applications
- Insulation of industrial ovens
- Insulation gasket
Biosoluble Fibre Packings, up to 1,200 °C
Biosoluble fibres are guaranteed asbestos and ceramic fibre-free. In order to eliminate the health risks associated with exposure to ceramic fibres or rock fibres for insulation, their chemical composition has been adapted. These fibres dissolve in bodily fluids such as those found in the pulmonary alveoli. They are less biopersistent, meaning they are eliminated more quickly by the body while maintaining their excellent thermal insulation and fire protection qualities. Our products can be reinforced with e-glass or with refractory steel which improves their mechanical properties but limits their thermal resistance (to 650 °C and 1,050 °C) Produced with a biosoluble fiber sheath, packings have excellent flexibility while maintaining good mechanical strength. The core consists of 100 % biosoluble fibres. Packings are available in diameters from 12 to 60 mm in round or square sections and can reach a peak temperature of 1,200 °C.
Applications
- Insulation of industrial ovens
- Insulation of boilers
- Pipe insulation
- Insulation gasket
