Aramid Fibre Grip Tapes, up to 300 °C
Made of aramid loops and polyamide monofilament hooks, high-temperature grip tapes are self-extinguishing and non-melting. They resist to a continuous temperature of 140 °C, to cold, and to general chemical products (excluding acids) and are certified to aeronautical and automobile standards.
The grip tapes exist with stainless steel hooks which improve their thermal resistance up to 235 °C.
General Characteristics of Aramid Grip Tapes
Physical Properties:
- Thickness of closure: 3.1 mm (hooks: 1.6 mm/loops: 2.5 mm)
- Density by surface area: 0.078 g/cm2
Mechanical Properties:
- Rupture point of strip: 300 N/cm
- Elongation at rupture: 70 %
- Pull-out resistance: 1 N/cm(0.8 N/cm after 1,000 cycles)
- Shear strength: 7 N/cm2 (5 N/cm2 after 1,000 cycles)
- Tensile strength: 4.5 N/cm2 (3.5 after 1,000 cycles)
Thermal Properties:
- Operating temperature: 140 °C or 235 °C (hooks)
- Peak temperature: 260 °C (hooks)
- Resistance to negative temperatures
Chemical Properties:
- Good resistance to alkalis, solvents, hydrocarbons and alcohols
- Low resistance to acids

Maintenance of Aramid Grip Tapes
- Washable at 95 °C
- Suitable for dry cleaning
- Suitable for ironing (with tape closed)
