Silicate Fibre Tapes 1,200 °C
Silicate Fibre Tapes, heat-resistant up to 1,200 °C
Composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and other metallic oxides such as aluminium, magnesium, calcium, etc., silicate fibre contains no toxic substances and is inorganic. It is an excellent alternative to ceramic fibre thanks to its great thermal and mechanical properties. Moreover, this fibre poses no health risk when handling with its diameter of 9 μm and can withstand high temperatures better than glass or biosoluble fibre.
Silicate fibre tapes have an excellent thermal resistivity and are suitable for high-temperature applications up to 1,200 °C in peak temperatures and up to 1,050 °C in operating temperatures. They also offer a great mechanical and chemical resistance. Silicate fibre tapes are mainly used in the industry for heat protections or for the insulation of cables and pipes.
Final Advanced Materials provides silicate fibre tapes with or without adhesive and are available in a width ranging from 10 to 300 mm. Depending on their level of silicon dioxide, silicate fibre textiles can have different physical, mechanical and thermal properties. Different declinations of the silicate fibre are therefore proposed for silicate fibre tapes.
