High Temperature Silicate Fibre Tapes 1,200 °C
Silicate Fibre Tapes, up to 1,200 °C
Composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and other metallic oxides such as aluminium, magnesium, calcium, etc., silicate fibre is inorganic and contains no toxic substances. Thanks to its great thermal and mechanical properties, it is an excellent alternative to ceramic fibre. Moreover, this fibre can withstand high temperatures better than glass or biosoluble fibre and poses no health risk when handling with its diameter of 9 μm.
Silicate fibre tapes offer a great mechanical and chemical resistance. They also have an excellent thermal resistivity and are suitable for high-temperature applications up to 1,200 °C in peak temperatures and up to 1,050 °C in operating temperatures. Silicate fibre tapes are mainly used in the industry for the insulation of cables and pipes or for heat protections.
Final Advanced Materials provides silicate fibre tapes with a width ranging from 10 to 300 mm and are available with or without adhesive. Depending on their level of silicon dioxide, silicate fibre textiles can have different thermal, physical and mechanical properties. Different declinations of the silicate fibre are therefore proposed for silicate fibre tapes.
