Parts as small as an inch to parts measuring over 6 ft. in length, and over 2000 pounds in weight, are easy to make.

Just mix and pour into any non-absorbent mold and let harden overnight to produce highly detailed ceramics, usable to 2200ºC.

Now an unlimited number of high temp. problems can be solved with ceramics using an in house process.

Cotronics Rescor® 770 i s a ceramic casting cement with excellent oxidation and erosion resistance. It is a silicon carbide based cement with a temperature resistance of up to 1480°C.  This material is ideal for casting and moulding molten metals, etc. It is available in 2L, 9.2L and 18.6L. RTC-60 fine alumina mouldable ceramic

RTC-60 fine is a pure alumina based powder Al2O3. It can withstand temperatures up to 1790 °C. It can be mixed with demineralised water. The mixture results in a moulding paste which must be shaped and dried. This paste can be poured onto all non-absorbent materials. The moulds should have sufficient vents to allow proper casting.  RTC-60 is available in different grain sizes and in 2.3 L, 12 L and 23 L.  For larger sizes, please contact us. Which high-temperature ceramic cement should I choose to manufacture foundry moulds?

For foundry moulds Final Advanced Materials produces alumina, silicon carbide, silica or zirconia-based cements, which are suited for temperatures between 1,200 and 2,200°C. Zirconia formulations are particularly suitable if a very high resistance to chemicals is required. Alumina cements have better mechanical resistance (>40 MPa in compression). SiC cement is a very good option for molten metal casting, launders, crucibles or nozzles. The choice depends on the cast metal and the temperature (e.g.: aluminium ~700°C, steel >1,500°C) and the thermal shock resistance.
