High temperature bulk Fibres

Overview: High Temperature Bulk Fibres

Final Advanced Materials offers bulk fibres for high and very high temperature applications. The product consists of a mass of randomly orientated, long, fluffy, resistant fibres. It allows the making of tailor-made products that are particularly light yet efficient. Bulk fibres offer excellent manoeuvrability and fit every space. However, this conditioning is only possible with biosoluble and zirconia fibres.

Applications of Bulk Fibres

  • Tamping for thermal insulation
  • Vacuum moulding
  • Additives in ceramic fibre products
  • Thermal insulation for industrial ovens

Our Range of Bulk Fibres

Chopped Biosoluble Fibres, up to 1,200 °C

Chopped biosoluble fibres offer great thermal resistivity. They can withstand operating temperatures up to 1,000 °C and classification temperatures up to 1,200 °C. The biosoluble fibre of its composition is non-carcinogenic and a safe alternative to asbestos, ceramic fibre and mineral fibre. A lubricated version of the loose fibre is available and can be used as filler or expansion joint. The non-lubricated version is particularly suitable for vacuum moulding applications. These products are also used in the industry for textile assembly.

The chopped biosoluble fibres provided by Final Advanced Materials are available in short or extra long size.

     Applications

  • Filler for thermal insulation
  • Expansion joint
  • Vacuum moulding
  • Textile assembly

Loose zirconia fibres, up to 2,300 °C

Loose zirconia fibres ZYBF exist in three different types. This polycrystalline material is produced using the manufacturing process developed by Zircar Zirconia. This method reproduces the rough physical structure of organic fibres into ceramic fibre structures. The loose fibres are stabilised by yttrium oxide and can withstand peak temperatures up to 2,300 °C and operating temperatures up to 2,200 °C. These products can be moulded under vacuum into rigid elements, used in cavities as loose insulators or added as a reinforcement to coatings and ceramic parts.

     Applications

  • Rigid elements moulded under vacuum
  • Reinforcement of ceramic parts
  • Reinforcement of coatings
  • Loose insulators in cavities

Loose silicate fibres, up to 1,200 °C

Loose silicate fibres can withstand peak temperatures up to 1,200 °C and operating temperatures up to 1,100 °C. With a diameter of 9 µm, these fibres are a safe and reliable alternative to ceramic fibres and asbestos products and pose no health risk when handling. Moreover, silicate fibres are inorganic and don’t contain toxic substances. They also offer excellent thermal and mechanical properties as well as good chemical resistance. Final Advanced Materials provides loose silicate fibres milled or chopped.
